I joined lead sponsor Delegate Crouse as a co-sponsor of West Virginia’s Women’s Bill of Rights legislation. We passed this important legislation last week and will codify in state law the definition for “woman,” “girl,” and “mother” to refer to biological females. If passed by the Senate and signed by Governor Justice, the bill will require a person’s biological sex be set at birth. It also prohibits the use of the term “gender identity” and other subjective terms. It also protects the ability to have single-sex living facilities, locker rooms, bathrooms, domestic violence shelters, and rape crisis centers.
