Outside the Echo Chamber: Del. Wayne Clark, Del. Jonathan Pinson and Charleston City Atty. Kevin Baker

Helping small businesses is often about getting government out of the way to allow them to diversify their business opportunities. Private Outdoor Designated Areas are one of the ways we can help our hospitality industry and community events. It allows cities and municipalities the ability to host block parties or festivals, with special licenses, and allow patrons who attend to walk freely from restaurant to restaurant, bar to bar, while still allowing them to enjoy their favorite alcoholic beverages. This is a great opportunity for our main street groups like Charles Town Now  and our downtown Charles Town and Ranson restaurants and bars. Proud to say that we passed this key hospitality bill for our local businesses during this year’s session.
